Bunny Bathgirl

She has had this bunny bath robe in the drawer since birth maybe???? Anyway, I finally thought of it and got it out. Well, we get to use it one or two times, as it is almost too small!

Oh well, it is cute while it lasts!!

Emma On The Go

Emma is not only crawling now just as fast as she can, but...

She is cruising just about as fast! Hanging onto anything that appears to be stable and walking until that object no longer suits her purposes. Drop down and crawl to the next... and repeat it all over again.

She is loving this new sense of freedom! It is not unusual now for her to be SO active that her head is just damp with sweat!

Check out her cute onesie. Aunt Stephanie made it for her as a Christmas gift. She's also wearing new jeans from Old Navy. The jeans were the first "real" jeans that she ever wore and they were totally inhibiting her crawling ability! (Any other jeans she's had in the previous sizes have been a softer fabric.)

Shoe Diva

Emma is surrounded by part of her shoe collection. We had pulled out the zip bag of shoes that are waiting for her to grow into. Well, her feet have grown recently and it was time to check them all out. In trying them on, she has on one brown one and one white. :)

Most of this pile are passed on from cousin Halie! We are very thankful for them!

I'm bad about putting my own shoes away each night and often leave them at the foot of the bed. Sometime on the weekend, after the pile has grown, I find the time to put them all away. I have been trying lately to make the effort to put them away, as this makes Martin a bit crazy. He calls it my ''shoe mountain". I do put Emma's away each day and make sure that she doesn't have a "shoe mountain" to bug her Daddy.

At the same time, we went through her current stash of shoes to make sure just what fit and what was too small, and this cute pair of canvas tennies with a crocheted flower, sadly are now too small. But, they still tasted good! :) She was still teething at this point and chewing on about anything.
I have tried to get a picture of Emma wearing every pair of shoes since she was born. I want to scrapbook her shoes, as I love shoes and she has had some really really cute ones! At first I was thinking a 2 page layout, but in reality it will probably be a small album!!! She has had a lot of shoes and she is only 10.5 months old and in a size 2, sometimes a 3!!!

A Green Thumb

I planted seeds several weeks ago. Basil, Chives and some type of flower... convulvulus, maybe... Anyway, I wrote on my calendar the day that each of them should have sprouted. The flowers and the basil were doing great, as you can see below. The chives, on the other hand, never did a thing and I had to re-plant. Ok, back to my basil. It was looking lovely and I was about ready to transplant it. And looking forward to fresh basil in my cooking. But...

One day I noticed that my basil leaves were no longer whole, but had little nibbles taken off them. The next day, they looked like this...

I couldn't figure out who or what was eating my basil. They hadn't bothered the flowers. Then, we walked out the front door that day, and tah! dah! Martin found the culprit!

A big fuzzy caterpillar!! I mentioned to Martin that he needed to move the flower boxes with my seedlings to the screened porch, but then we got busy and left. Then, I was gone most of the day Friday w/ Mom, all day Sat. for a scrapbook event, church on Sun. and when we returned home after a long day Sunday in Hobe Sound... My basil plants were all eaten!! Well, I had part of one left.
I have since replanted and they are growing right on target. The basil has started to sprout and those flower seedlings are doing great! I think that this time around the chives are going to make it, as well. I have enough basil that I plan on sharing it with a neighbor and Mom, if they want some.

Emma's First Easter

Let me first preface this with- Emma was sick with a yucky cold/cough/runny nose by this time! She started getting it yesterday, and it got worse thru the night.

With that, let the story begin: Auntie Ruth bought the girls matching dresses & socks, as she wanted to see them at some point in matching outfits. We decided to use them as their Easter dresses. They were just adorable! Steph and I found matching hair items at Target. Emma's was a lavender headband w/ bow and Halie had the barrettes with the same bow attached. Steph also curled Halie's hair the night before on sponge rollers. What a doll! Thank you, Aunt Ruth!

We waited until the service was over to take them up front and take pictures by the Easter lilies.
(check out their extremely foofy socks! )

This is a happy picture of Emma, but if you look closer you will see her red nose! Running like a faucet during church! That soft burp cloth was used many, many times as a nose wiper! :( Much softer than using any type of Kleenex or tissue

Emma & her Nana, who looks lovely in her pale yellow. I really wanted the pictures of the girls to be taken in front of the lilies, similar to this one, but they have recently re-done the entire front of the stage and that arrangement was not possible.

Halie Dawn with Nana & Papaw. Not sure why we did not get one of Emma w/ both grandparents.... Hmmm.....

The Lovejoy Family in our lavender Easter outfits. Martin does not willingly wear a suit too often. He had to be cajoled, kinda forced, etc... :) 2 times a year is not to much to ask! Right???

This one belongs a bit later, but slipped in here somehow. Grandparents Delamarter enjoying lunch at the Cantrell's.

Grandma D, Emma and Mommy after church and after our photo session.

Emma and her Easter goodies. What does the Easter Bunny bring a 10.5 month old pretoddler, who dies not eat chocolate?????? Hmmmmm... Ta Doodles (a beginner Crayola product), 2 books, a ducky watering can (for summer play) & Bunny shaped sidewalk chalk.

Standing in front of Nana's rose bushes, a few red ones are in bloom. Notice she is STANDING on her OWN!!!! She just decided this morning that she could do that! A little timid in this photo, but doing it all the same!
We all (Delamarter's, Lovejoy's, Glidewell's, McNay's & Cantrell's) went out to Bob & Gina Cantrell's for Easter lunch. It was Robert's AND Bob's birthday today and they hosted lunch. All the ladies helped with the food and we had a super delish meal! Roast & noodles were Robert's birthday request and Ham because it was Easter! Plus all of the yummy trimmings!

The babies ate their lunch quickly and were put down for naps. After waking we did our Egg hunt. Here Halie is opening her pink Easter 'basket' from Nana. Emma got a blue one, as it is her current fave color. :) You'll see it being used in the Egg Hunt photos.

Emma woke up from nap with a fever. She has been getting sick since yesterday morning, but has had no fever until it was about time to hunt Easter eggs! So, she was clinging to me and refused to eat or drink.

But, we persisted, and got her to participate in the hunt. The first egg we found was purple and she could really have cared less about that, but I prodded her into bending down and getting it. Then, we found this one! A BLUE one! Boy, she was so into that! She picked that one up and began shaking it. It was filled with Sweet Tarts, and made a great shaking/rattly noise.

Here we have found 2 blue eggs! She found a grand total of three! Super for her very first Easter Egg Hunt and she didn't feel so hot!

Here are all three little ones: Emma Rose, Halie Dawn and Josiah Mathew. Josiah is my maternal cousin, Cyndi's son. The Delamarter family functions almost always include the many extended branches of relatives, married, maternal, paternal, etc... Makes for big, noisy, fun get-togethers!

Papaw flopped down on the ground with the kids once they were finished. Halie & Josiah just love him to death!! Emma is slowly coming around. It took her awhile. They say that I was the same way with my Grandpa.

The Cantrell family checking out those eggs. You can see one of their dogs in the next picture. Gretchen is sitting at the base of the tree. She stayed there forever thinking that she had a squirrel treed.
The Lovejoys, at the end of a busy and fun day. Emma looks happy and content here, but in reality she was exhausted. We left soon after taking these pictures.

April 1 = 10 Months Old

Conveniently, we bought Emma her high chair the day before and had it cleaned up and ready to use on her 10 month birthday. :) She needed a high chair (the Bumbo seat was not the best option anymore and mommy was sure Emma was going to tip it over one day even though daddy kept telling her that this was impossible because of the shape of it) and the local consignment shop had exactly what I wanted! A wooden Eddie Bauer. At less than 1/2 the cost of a brand new one! That was a blessing!

Mommy loved using it at our meals today, but Emma was not so sure about it! She did like banging on the tray, until Mommy made her stop for meal time manners. Now that she has her own high chair we do not need to use one of our dining chairs for her, so we can have 4 adults at the table again. Sounds like a good reason to plan a dinner party. Been hungry for enchiladas lately...

She was just going & going during her waketime & playing and having so much fun. Look at her head. Her hair was soaked with sweat!

Proof that she is not ALWAYS a happy, cheerful baby. (just most of the time) She can be fussy and pouty once in awhile.

We had to tag team in order to get some decent photos taken, as she just wanted to continue crawling and playing! Sitting still was not on her daily agenda.

AHHH! We did it! A really nice picture for her 10 month birthday.

Boo Boo Blanky & Naptime

Emma has a small pink blanky for naptime/bedtime that I refer to as Boo Boo (I also call her Boo Boo). It has always been a sleeping blanket only and does not ever go around the house w/ her. We do take it w/ us if we are to be out during a naptime or at bedtime and she will be sleeping in the pack & play. I need you to grasp that it truly is a sleep object only before moving on to the next photo.
But what was so cute & even funny to me in taking this photo, was her feet propped up on the side of the crib, just chillin' out!! She did have one knee bent and the foot propped on the side, when I first went into her room.

I took the blanky and laid it up on the side rails, then offered her my hands to pull herself upright. She stood up, immediately grabbed Boo Boo, shoved it into her mouth and reached for me to get out! Like she was going to take it with her today and Mommy might not notice or something!! Cracked me up!

So, of course I had to snap a picture or two for the scrapbook & blog. She's tried it once or twice since and is in hopes that I'll not notice it at some point. She is totally OK with it when you leave it in the crib, but just tries to slip it out once in a while. Silly girl!

Gotta give it to her tho. Persistence is usually a good thing. Or is just being stubborn, like her mother???

New Cards

Click on the link to my other blog if you want to see the cute cards I made for Easter! The link is down a bit and on the right hand side under "Other Blogs".

Emma's First Boo Boo

Emma is getting used to sitting on the car, but she isn't totally happy about it if you help her hang on and then drive it around. She's leery of falling off.

She has the Tupperware corn-on-the-cob butter thingy again! she loves it!

My happy girl!

Look at the big ol' meany bruise on her knee! Her very first one. I am SURE it will not be her last. She has done so much crawling these past few days that she has bruised her knee! Daddy says she needs knee pads.

Miss Jessika in the background. Emma loves the cats! They are not so sure about her. When she is calm, Jess is ok with her stroking her. But, Emma tends to get excited when she sees them and that makes them nervous.

Wearing Mommy's Red Shoes

Mom had saved my red velvet shoes that I wore when I was 1 year old and I have had them waiting for my daughter "someday". Well, today was that "someday"! Emma is just shy of 10 months old, but if we had waited any longer to wear them, they would not have fit! This was the only dress that I had for her that the red shoes went with in any way. And you wouldn't typically pair a sundress with velvet shoes, but you do what ya' gotta do!

Her little gums are bothering her something fierce! Wish those new teeth would just come on out!

A close up of my red shoes. I believe that my Papaw Bowlin bought these for me. I also have a sailor dress worn at the same time "somewhere". I can not find it! It has to be in storage but so far no luck!

Mommy's sweet baby girl!

Halie was also there this weekend, and I tried to get a cousin picture. So far when we try this, one or the other of them cries!

Emma trying to walk in the slick bottomed red shoes and on Nana's wood floors. She thinks she can't stand up unless she holds onto both hands, but we are trying to show her that one hand also works well.

A Warm Day At The Beach

March 15th, we went back to the beach, as it was a really nice day and Martin has been dying to get there and show Emma. After church, lunch, and her nap, we headed down to Hobe beach.

It was packed! We had to drive around and around and wait for someone to leave and grab their parking spot!

Emma did not mind the sand on her toes at all! She loved watching the waves roll in, as well.

LOL!! Double click on this picture and see Martin's expression! He knew that the water would get his feet wet, but was not prepared for it to come crashing on his legs and be quite so cold! :)

What a sweet Daddy & Emma photo!

We have always stuck the camera straight out and snapped our own pictures. Some turn out and some look goofy! I tried and tried for a family shot and either I am grimacing at the sun or Emma is looking away from the camera! :) Oh well...
Last fall I bought Emma her first swimsuit, on clearance. It's a Disney princess suit. Can't wait for her to wear it in a pool or at the beach! We have a blow up pool and now that the weather is consistently warmer, maybe we can get it out soon.
