March 2010 Happenings...

March 5th- emma helping out with the weekly vacuuming of the hard floors. She loves to help! Hope that lasts awhile!

Lots of FREEBIES this week! Rebate checks, coupons booklets, FREE item coupons!! I love couponing!!

March 10th- Happy birthday, Martin! Blueberry pancakes, eggs & sausages.

We met Rob's family at Golden Corrall for dinner. Sierra came right up and made friends with Emma, and she was her pal all week long!

Mom and Martin.
Emma helped make Daddy's birthday dessert- Strawberry Shortcake. She then proudly carried it to him. Such a big girl!

Emma's first time to attempt a bounce house. Our friend's grandson had a birthday party and she loved it!!!!

later at Nana's, some one gave her "chockie"..... What a mess! What great pictures! :-)

We took the kite bag and collected the kids and headed to the beach. Played int he sand and flew several different kites. FUN times!

Emma was NOT impressed with the sand on her bare feet! I had to put her shoes back on her!!
Those eyes!!!

Rob is flying a sport kite and Martin is laying down taking pictures.

The next day, we went shopping and bought "Daddy" candy as her potty reward, as well as new big girl undies!! She was so excited!!! We are ready to do this!!

Saturday, we all met as a family, out at Jonathin Dickinson State Park for the family picnic that Mom wanted for her birthday.

Halie, Emma and Josiah playing in the sand.

Emma had picked out the black heart brooch for Nana's gift.

By this time, the guys had all left to play golf, so we got a group photo w/ Nana.

Emma's first ring pop. Halie had brought one for all the kids. It lasted just long enough to make everything sticky...

Sunday after church, we met out in the courtyard behind the college snack shop for a photo session. Wind, hungry kids did not make for the best pictures, but hey- ya get what ya get!

Here we all are: 3 kids, 2 spouses and mom & dad. Dee Dee, Martin, Dad, Mom, Steph (Robert had to wrk that day, I believe), Rob & Leah.

They were SO incredibly tired of taking pictures, so I told them to make goofy faces! The little girls didn't really understand.

Here we all are with Grandma & Grandpa Delamarter.

Four generations of Delamarter men. The boys (Venice) were more cooperative once they understood this concept.

Mom made a superb dinner, of course. With so many people, we set up tables on the carport and ate outside.

Rob & his boys had matching shirts from Algozzini's. What handsome guys they are!

Grandpa Delamarter
Grandma D and Aunt Ruth

Dad and Mom (Yes, Dad had a beard that winter/spring)

Dad, Rob and the kids came for dinner and fun. I made a new recipe-Baked Chicken Pasta Parmesan, salad, bakery bread with dipping herbs. yum! Leah opted out of this one, as she is allergic to cats. They set up the Corn Hole boards and everyone took turns trying it out.

Miss Emma LOVES Uncle Rob. He can be such a goofball and she was loving every minute of it!

Rob's turn... think the underhand, granny toss will getcha more points??

Rob and the kids, just before leaving. You can take 10 pictures and in every one someone will not be looking at he camera, or be grumpy or picking their nose... We had such fun with them this trip!!!

The Indian Pow Wow takes place every year in Fort Pierce. Tribes from all across Florida and other southerns states come together. Part of it is for their own purposes, as well as to be able to show the traditional Indian way of living. Martin would like to go every year, but I usually persuade him otherwise.

The village. Some people bring these each year and really live in them over the weekend. There are cooking fires burning. Some are to visit and others are homes and you aren't allowed to enter.

Now this is FUNNY! English white man with his pale white daughter in a tee pee! He LOVES this Pow Wow tho!

Our lunch: Navajo tacos and sweet potato fries. YUMMMMM!!!!! The taco was an open faced taco on frybread.

Posing for a nice Mommy & Emma picture.... and who should stick their finger in their nose??? Not mommy! :-) It was soooo hot that day!

This was a storyteller. He was telling tales and legends right by the eating area. So we got to listen, take a rest and eat our lunch.

This guy was a musician, singing and playing a wooden flute. Lovely music. Totally modernized sale tent tho!

Kinda odd lookin' white man-indian... I guess that would be me tho if I were to dress up for this. The last generation on Mom's side to claim her Indian heritage, but just as white looking as can be!

The last Sunday in March, before church. Wearing a dress from Auntie Sarah.

Posing out in our back garden by the lovely Bougainvillea. They make beautiful flowers, but have horrid long thorns!

She loves the color purple right now and is in love with "flowies"!

This brings us to the end of MARCH.... We are now in September.....
(thank Aunt Naomi for prodding me to get this going again!)
